the american

i am a foreigner.

yup, thats me. french with a bad american accent and the ID (drivers license from 'missouri') that no one has ever seen. still having a hard time waking up.. and keep waking up at 5 in the morning for an hour or so, annoying. Had mcdonalds, same thing exactly. relaxed with lauren and her brothers playing uno and 'le menteur', also xbox kinect dance n call of duty. then went to the mall to get a phone finally. i was quickly announced (literally) to the store as an american and they were excited (in the town etiolles that im in, 25 min outside paris, i guess it is kind of rare?) so when i showed my ID they guy was joking that he wanted to keep it and be american and whatnot.. and everyone was staring haha woww.. oh yeah and soulja boy 'hopped up off the beedd, turn my swagg onn' was playing :(.... oh yeah phone was only 20 euros.. nice huh?

then did some shoppinngg. everything sold is black or grey, which is fine i guess. i bought a cute pea coat from pimkie.. i think it was called and a scarf too! it was interesting to see.. but again all american music in the stores.. literally every one :\ booo

france and their roundabouts.. you know how in wentzville everyone freaked out about the only two we have now (by duello) well, no way could anyone handle these roundabouts, maybe not even me haha. some crazy guy tried to have us park.. for no apparent reason while we were driving too, my first instince was that he was trying to kill us (st louis upbringing) and laurens response was.. no, french people don't do that (the 'everythings fine' frenchness haha) but we got home safe.

got all pretty to go to the bâteau mouche ( bout that goes on the seine where you can have dinner too). horrible traffic! took us 2 and a half, maybe 3 hours to get just 30 min. on the way we played games like listing as many words that start with the same letter, or going from word to word by making connections between them, 20 questions, and guess the song. my vocab was def tested :P i won one game though :) then got to listen to her brothers spotting out asians and the best part was marc doing the dialogue for a conversation of people standing by their crunched cars.. wow. also mad another driver mad enough to get out of their car to come yell in our window, in which marc replied 'je suis vraiment désolé mademoiseeelle' haha woww dude was not happy. i could not, and will not ever drive in paris.. new york looks easy now

needless to say we were late for the bâteau mouche and instead chose an Alsace restaurant right of the Champs Élysées :) eeeeee!!! alsace is a french city by germany so i tried to get the most generic thing, goat cheese in a croisant thing over lettuce.. yumm, choucroute (sauerkraut) with different meats, and ... ugghhh cant remember the name of my dessert now or the specific fruit in it so.. ill add it later, but all very good, verrry fancy!

yeah but with the french thing, everytime i talk i feel like im using way too dictionary like 'by the book' talk.. and im only reassured when i hear someone use the same phrase then im like.. ok cool  they actually say that, but most of the time im just feelin pretty dumb. i get half way through a sentence and just dont want to finish it haha. so, ive been trying not to be too quiet, but at the same time taking in so many conversations is a huggee headache much less trying to speak correctly.. oh yeah and saying it with a french accent. ughh, i hope it gets easier super quick..

disneyland tmrw :) should be a good break.. and maybe une soirée for new years after
