(eng keyboard- got a converter yes!)
slept 14 hours.. still jet lagged though, but headed out this morning to parriis! wooot.. i really wasn't wanting to be THE tourist but needless to say i totally was.. well i kind of hid it by muting my camera and dressing somewhat blendy but.. i was constantly 'puis-je prendre une photo???'
we first met in saint michelle with two of lauren's friends and went to a crêperie.. my head ached after 15 minutes sitting there trying to take in all the french going on around me, especially with kitchen noises blocking out half of what i could here and remembering that french people are french.. and not loud americans aka don't scream while eating at a restaurant (hey maybe they should?) haha jk, but i maybe got half if i reallly concentrated and tried to explain disneyworld.. six flags.. and horse showing uhh yeah difficult vocab so.. i tried.. and they got it, but hey first 24 hrs so whatever good enough for now
then ya know, notre dame was 'just around the corner' so we hopped over just to see it (not really that casual i was STOKED) but i was also with parisians so they didnt care so much :P. got pics and heard the bells and then took a metro.. went to la TOUR EIFFEL! yes.. awesome, amazing.. beautiful.. crowded.. beautiful ahh love it though.. ate a crêpe, nutella of course, in front of it (waddupp) yes TOTAL tourist.. sue me
thenn we walked up the champs élysées (ohhh champs élysée do do do doo ohhh champs élysée...) sooo crowded, too much american stuff (mcdonalds, h&m, claires, yuckk) so idk.. it was ok with the christmas stuff still up but walked up to the Arc de Triomphe which is just huge and awesome and crazy with the driving.. and then i thought i would die of exhaustion so we headed home.
on the way home we stopped at their local boulangerie (bakery) and lauren's dad told the lady i was american and had never been to a boulangerie.. she offered me to see the back so i was like.. OUI MERCI! and thheennn once we got back there, their poor daughter tried to explain how to make it while translating some words into english but not many details, but then her dad stepped in saying no no no i will do it, he gave me a full detailed account in french (lauren helped me with some vocab) of how exactly they make baguettes and even let me help!!!! how sweet :) it. was. awesome. soo nice
once home i got to meet carl, lauren's oldest brother (marc is 18 and richard is 12) we sat at a table to snack on an appetizer while sipping champagne and learning lots of slang (i told the boys to right me a list because they seem to know it all :P) then we had "raclette", it is cheese you melt in a little individual pans in one warmer at the table and then put the cheese on different meets (ham and .. kinda pepperoni) or on baguette/potato. VERYY good!!
Noooo!! Not Nic! He has invaded France? Nowhere is safe!
